St. Cecilia Concert Society presents the Elmer Iseler Singers, a twenty-voice professional chamber choir based in Toronto and conducted by Artistic Director Lydia Adams. Founded by the late Dr. Elmer Iseler in 1979, the Elmer Iseler Singers are one of Canada’s most illustrious professional choral ensembles. Guaranteed to be one the highlight concerts of our season the choir will perform “Lamentation of Jeremiah” by renowned Canadian composer Peter Togni with Jeff Reilly, solo bass clarinet. This brilliant composition was commissioned through the Canada Council and premiered in Toronto last April to honour their 50th anniversary. This performance in Lunenburg is paired with a grouping of Renaissance motets including a companion Lamentations of Jeremiah by Thomas Tallis.
